Catalyst @ Penn GSE — a global center for education innovation at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE)—and the Michael and Lori Milken Family Foundation announced the finalists for the 14th annual Milken-Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition.

Eileen Strempel, Inaugural Dean, Herb Alpert School of Music, and Stephen Handel, serving as an EdVisorly Board Observer and the former Vice President of Enrollment for the University of California System on "the Supreme Court’s decision to outlaw the use of race and ethnicity in college admissions."

Dr. Katy Launius, and EdVisorly board observer and Strategy Officer Mary Laphen Pope from Lumina Foundation, on the capacity that community colleges offer 4-year universities to overcome their continued decline in enrollment. Colleges and universities must think more creatively about how to advance community college transfer enrollment and engage the adult student population.

The ECMC Foundation announced the launch of the Catalyzing Transfer Initiative and informed Education Innovation Ventures’ $250,000 investment in the expansion of EdVisorly. The software platform guides community college students interested in transferring to a four-year institution.
